*WARNING: inspired by true events only, this is not a true story and is still a work of fiction. Inspired by true events, The Rite tells the tale of a young man who has lost faith in God and is sent by a superior priest to Rome to attend exorcism classes. Michael Kovak ( portrayed by Colin O’Donoghue, better known as Hook from Once Upon a Time), works a mortician alongside his father. When that life is no longer enough for him he decides to runaway to seminary school. With no real calling and a only a few months away from taking his vows, he sends sends a letter of resignation explaining his lack of faith and his skepticism in religion. His mentor at the school still sees potential in young Michael and decides to disregard his letter resignation. Instead, he offers to send him to Rome to attend classes the train students on exorcism. Michael, still skeptic of the religion and not believing he is qualified to be an exorcist goes to Rome anyway. When Michael questions the teaching at the Vatican, his father superior decides to send him to a local exorcist, Father Lucas Trevant (Anthony Hopkins). Father Lucas is as unorthodox as they come when looking for an exorcist. Will the two face a demon that even Father Lucas is not strong enough to defeat? Can Michael’s faith be restored in this thrilling film? I’m not one for exorcist movies, but this one chilled me to the bone and left me hollering at the characters. That, for me, is a sure sign of good movie. This movie was more about one man’s skepticism and finding his faith. I am in now way suggesting that someone needs to become an exorcist or be a Christian. I was only intrigued by the Michael’s journey and his take on possession before he became an exorcist. At one point, Father Lucas compares the Devil to a burglar or a thief. Michael’s response showed how people in general are always searching for the proof or a reason for a situation. "Gets complicated when no proof of the devil is somehow proof." (Michael Kovak) Anthony Hopkins puts on an amazing performance that had me riveted to me seat near the end. Colin O’Donoghue was something else. Born Irish, blue eyes and he lost his accent for this movie. His performance as Michael Kovak and his journey to faith was something I don’t think I’ll ever forget. The journey is ending. Perry, Aria and Roar are going to the Still Blue, a place separate from the Aether and clear blue skies that go on forever. The journey proves to be as perilous as staying in the Tide cave. What cost will the friends have to pay to cross over to this safe haven? Sable proves to be their second greatest obstacle after the Aether barrier dividing the Still Blue from their current home. He is ruthless and will stop at nothing to control this new safe haven once the crossing is made. He knows Cinder is the only way to cross the barrier no matter how it may affect the boy. Can Perry, Aria and Roar defeat Sable and keep the Tides together? How will this journey affect the characters? And one more thread to find, will Aria finally find her father? This book broke my heart at the loss the characters experienced. It also brought me joy when they discovered what they had gained and the love of family. They come to understand that family is not blood, but those who stick by you even through the worst storm. Can they find a happy ending in the safe haven, into the Still Blue? ~CeCe Through the Ever Night Review This book was just as exciting and heartfelt as Under the Never Sky. Maybe a little more on the heartbreaking side, but the adventure continues. The Aether storms have become worse. The Tides are at risk. Food is running out and the storms are now striking the compound. Perry faces new challenges as the Blood Lord and leader of his tribe. He must deal with finding his people new shelter and provisions. He must be quick on his feet. And what about his love for Aria. Surely the Tides will accept his decision, or will it tear the tribe in half causing some to break oath to Perry? Aria has returned on a mission from Consul Hess and a way to return Talon to the Tides. She rejoins Perry and they both discover something amazing about her, she is part outsider and an Audile. She can hear better than a normal person. The two now travel together back to Tide land to develop a plan for their common mission: to find the Still Blue. There is only one who knows the location of the Still Blue: Sable. Will Perry and Aria travel together and learn it’s location and save the Tides? Will Talon return to his people? Can Aria and Perry live together and be happy in the Still Blue or will circumstances continue to drive them apart? I enjoyed this book as well as the first and look forward to the final installment of this trilogy. ~CeCe Horns Review A friend and I decided to watch this movie on a whim. I’ll admit, due to the reviews from others I had my doubts about this one. Horns is a movie that many said wasn’t worth watching. I disagree with the masses on this one. What seemed like a dumb movie to many I found intriguing. One man finds horns growing from his forehead after the mysterious death of his girlfriend. Starring Daniel Radcliffe (also known famously as Harry Potter) as the troubled Ig Perish, this movie shows the darkest side of humanity. The horns bring the people’s darkest secrets to the surface. Can Ig use this new power from the horns to get to the bottom of his girlfriend’s death? The message from the horns and the suspense and mystery had me on the edge of my seat. I must also say I didn’t see the tear jerking moment in the film. This movie was better than the reviews portrayed. I would watch this one again just for some of the comebacks from Radcliffe. In a way something so serious was made comical. This film had a little of everything; comedy, suspense and romance. ~CeCe I know it's been awhile since I've posted. It seems like I've been busy, busy, busy. Working on some new things to churn out for you. As always, I apologize it's taking me awhile to get new material on the actors page. It will be coming soon, I promise. Just recently sat down to write the new reviews I've been meaning to get done. October to the end of the year seems to be a very busy time for me, so to my followers please bare with me. As always thank-you for taking the time to check out this site and my links as they will be constantly updated and changing. I've just discovered the new add ons to Weebly, so I will be working with those to help improve the experience here at CeCe. I know I've been heavily focused on the writing side of the things to share with you all and hope that soon I can add something else for you.
