So sorry to be a couple of weeks behind. The last two weeks have been the big push to end of the term. Good news: This is the last week of school and I will have earned my BA in Creative Writing and English!! This week will be a bit laid back as far as school, but not on the writing front. Remember that play I was working on? Well, I'm still writing the show, but I will be submitting the sketches at the end of the week. And I'm also working on the novel full speed ahead now. My goal is to have both completely written by August. Here's a little bit of catch up from the last couple weeks: I wanted to take a brief moment to wish all of my followers a Happy Valentine's Day. I'll be at work all day tomorrow and didn't think I'd get a chance. I also wanted to share with you an older article, but I though would be fitting for the day. It's a playlist of my songs from Cloud 9. I hope you enjoy the day with loved ones and if you can't be with them I hope you think of them as you listen to this playlist. www.theodysseyonline.com/9-songs-from-cloud-nine Happy Sunday all! This week I feel like I was reminded once again to Face the Music of my life. This isn't a bad thing, just an evaluation of where I'm at and what I want to accomplish. I was considering very heavily of moving out of my current place, but have decided against it. There are several reason for this. One, I don't want to be locked into another lease at a different apartment. I'm at a point where I want and need the freedom that if something comes up and I have to relocate that I can do without having to pay to get out of a lease. Two, it's just too expensive right now and this also ties into number one.
So, what is that I'm hoping for? Well, here's the big one: I finish my Bachelor's program in a matter of just 3 weeks!! I'm super excited! Since I'm so close I'm refocusing my energy once again on writing/editing jobs. In my spare time I'm also hard at work on my other writing projects. Even though I'm stuck on the play at the moment, the novel is coming along nicely. I'm looking into Scrivener to help with the novel writing process and I'm shooting for a full first manuscript by August. I would love to shoot to have the play finished by June as well. Speaking of facing the music, this also reminded me of Paul Stanley's book. I look back on this each time I feel discouraged and contemplating and reevaluating my situation. It has amazing insights into the struggles KISS faced, as well as the Starchild's own personal struggles. Not a KISS fan? That's ok. He has a little something for everyone in this book. I recommend this to anyone that may need help reevaluating life or in need of encouragement. www.theodysseyonline.com/why-one-should-read-face-the-music-life-exposed CCNight Hey guys! Guess what? It's comic con time again! Well almost. Technically, it's the end of March for me, but man am I excited. In honor of comic con season rolling around the corner I wanted to share an older review. This comes from when I met Kevin Sorbo. Yep, remember that? I have a signed copy of his autobiography. It's always a great time when I go. www.theodysseyonline.com/true-hero-review-true-strength-kevin-sorbo Forgive me if you don't hear from me for a week or two. I've got a big powerpoint presentation due this week. I know sounds easy right? Well, this week the slides are due by Thursday and then I have to create a whole presentation with my voice recorded with the powerpoint presentation. Mind you, I'm not super tech savvy so this is going to be fun. I will do my best to at least check in.
I'm currently stuck on the play so I'm not sure when that will be finished. Right now Mr. Blackwell is being...well Mr. Blackwell. Working when he wants to on his schedule and he'll get back to you. So while he's on vacation somewhere the fantasy characters have taken center stage. Liviana has quite a road ahead of her yet now that she has returned to a war torn world and is currently left with more questions than answers. I thank-you all for your support in my endeavors. I see the Facebook group growing a little at a time and that is encouraging. I can't wait to be able to share a full project with you all. CCNight |
